A little history on the Pirates of Lost Treasure...
We were founded in 1992 as the result of one couples desire to see a Mardi Gras
Krewe in the Perdido Key area. The dream turned into reality when a simple
poster was hung, in our favorite watering hole The Reef, inviting anyone
interested in joining a Mard
i Gras
Krewe to come to a meeting and talk it over.
The result was a rag tag group of about thirty misfits that formed into what is
called The Pirates of Lost Treasure Mardi Gras Krewe. Now into our
sixteenth year as a Krewe, we have grown not only in numbers but in our ability
to participate and organize community events
The very first year we were an official Mardi Gras Krewe we founded Secret Santa
in order to be able to give back to our community in thanks for all the
community had given us. Never thinking for one minute that Secret Santa
would grow to be as big as it is today. Over the years we have been able
to provide toys and food baskets for less fortunate members of our community
during the holiday season.
In 2004, after the nightmare brought upon the area by Hurricane Ivan, we were
able to provide toys for 160 children who otherwise may have had a very sad
holiday season. We were also able to provide funds for a local Food Bank
to ensure that many local families would truly have a joyous holiday with all
the trimmings that come along with holiday celebrations. With each and
every year since we were founded we have been blessed with the ability to
contribute to those in need by raising funds through the many events we either
sponsor or participate in. Many Pirates volunteer long hours to see that
the coffers are full in order to meet the needs of the community during times of
need.
Before you think we are just a bunch of do-gooders holding fundraisers all
year, let us dispel that thought with the knowledge that we are a Mardi Gras
Krewe! We party, before, during and after the Mardi Gras season. We have over
100 members and associate members, and when we get together it gets rowdy.

Newsletters will be available at Pack, Ship and Shop for those who don't do email or internet. But, I strongly suggest use of this site for all our latest news. Things change more frequently than a paper newsletter can keep up with.
New bylaw to be entered--Our general membership will be increased from 75 members to 100 members.
Don't forget to use the calendar to keep up to date. If you see that I've missed an event of any kind, please email me to get it posted as quickly as I can.
Frank was made into an honorary pirate over applause and cheers. Thanks Frank for all the service an congratulations on your new status.
